Your real department structure
Departments reflect how your production is actually organized, not a fixed template.
- The structure is per project, because two productions rarely break down the same way.
- Departments are the spine of submission tracking, reminders, and reporting.
Active departments
Only the departments this production actually uses stay active.
- Activating and deactivating departments keeps the Crew Timecard form honest and short, and deactivation changes what is in play now without erasing history.
Project-specific setup
Adjust the department setup for this production where it differs from the standard.
- Project-specific setup covers the departments and positions a given show adds or names differently, and it lives with the project, so one production's naming never rewrites another's.
Position Lookup
Look up positions by department, across both standard positions and ones specific to this production.
- Position Lookup is how the office confirms the right position title without guessing.
- Standard positions cover the common cases, project-specific positions cover the rest, and positions can be activated or deactivated as the production changes.
Submission tracking by department
Departments are the unit the day is tracked in: who has submitted and who has not.
- Because tracking is by department, the office chases a department rather than thirty individuals. Full status views, filtering, and reminders live in Timecards.
Time basis
Where it applies, a department carries the time basis its submissions are read against.
- Time basis is set where it is relevant rather than imposed everywhere, so a department's submissions are interpreted the way that department actually works.
Department notification representatives
Each department can have the people who receive what that department needs to hear.
- Representatives are how a reminder or a note reaches the right department head instead of everyone.
- Representative relationships connect to Crew records and to the Daily Digest.
Request Department
When a production needs a department that is not there yet, it can be requested.
- A request is visible to the office rather than handled by side channel, and it appears in the production's notification inbox.
